Bogus Tradesman- Fraud

Dear Resident, 

We have had a recent report in the area of Stonedale, Sutton Hill whereby bogus tradesman have been knocking on doors, offering exterior property maintenance, when it may not be needed. They often start by offering small, low-cost jobs to gain trust, but once work begins, they may falsely claim that further repairs are urgently needed, quickly inflating the originally quoted price. 

Please be aware of anyone who is offering to do work on your house (e.g. roof, driveway, garden) as they may not be legitimate or genuine. They may be pushy or try to make you feel pressured to accept their services. If this is the case please report online Report | West Mercia Police or if you feel in immediate danger, please call 999. 

Be sure to ask for identification and the name of the individual and/or company. Remember if you are in doubt it is always best to say no and decline their services, you can always says you'll get back to them. Never pay upfront and don't let them into your home.
